HELP CENTER

You Asked, We Answered

IF A CV AXLE IS OFFERED AS "NEW", BUT DIDN'T COME FROM A DEALERSHIP PARTS DEPARTMENT THEN.....

it is not an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) part meaning it wasn't originally designed, engineered, and manufactured to be installed your particular vehicle at the time of assembly.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT YOU ASK?

Safety, Performance, and Durability. The original part had to meet specific standards according to a governing body in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry known as SAE for Society of Automotive Engineers. It is a collective of professionals that make sure when a part is manufactured & installed in your vehicle it will perform as expected with Safety and Durability you expect when your vehicle is new. That is part of the reason for the "sticker shock" buyers of replacement parts experience when they call their local dealer and inquire about a replacement part. The sum of it's parts makes the whole vehicle's cost relative.

THE "NEW" AFTERMARKET PART CLAIMS TO "MEET OR EXCEED OEM SPECIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS" OR IT IS "OES"

a common misrepresentation on OEM is the use of "OES" --- Remember the SAE reference? To what standards and specifications are they referring to Meeting or Exceeding? SAE standards are met when the manufacturer marks it's product. Aftermarket parts don't carry any distinguishable markings or references to the OEM because that would be counterfeiting.

WHY DOES CV SOURCE ONLY REBUILD THE OEM PARTS?

Because we know the components have be properly manufactured in the first place to ensure when we re-use them they will perform equally again as intended. CV Source often leaves the original manufacturer's markings intact to better identify the part's fitment & to distinguish it from the Chinese made products. We can help you identify if your CV Axle is an original OEM part even if it's already been rebuilt with some simple steps.
